Abstract
Even though it has a spontaneous and natural development, the transmedia phenomenon, as a logical result of the progress of the new technologies of information, has already an existing bibliography that tries to explain, define and cover it. Taking professor and theorist Henry Jenkins as a fundamental reference, an attempt has been made to gather briefly some of the basic concepts that relate to transmedia as the new paradigm. Some of the consequences are also commented, and how they influence the narrative mechanism and the way audiovisual products are consumed. Finally, the paper deals with some of the most significant projects of Spanish transmedia.
