Abstract
The scholarly literature on TV series adaptations is limited
by the absence of a strong methodological model that would
overcome textual analysis and would opt for a contextual and
particularlly cultural approach. The transformation of a TV
fiction into its adaptation respond, mostly, to cultural, social
or economic power structures that have been redefined by
national or international producers throughout TV’s History.
In this paper, we propose an analytic methodology suitable
for different cultural realities by using the Spanish TV fiction
market as a case study, through the specific examples of Mesa
para cinco (La Sexta, 2006), Las chicas de oro (TVE, 2010), and
Cheers (Telecinco, 2011).
