Abstract

Interview with Elena Martin Gimeno, filmmaker and actress, on how to create new feminine subjectivity role models taking into account inherited gender and interpretative roles.  Regarding her latest film, Creatura (2023), she tells us about the process of research, writing and creation of a character explained between temporal and emotional intervals. From this point, more issues arise, such as the influence of theater in her professional life in film writing, directing and acting; the excessive gestures and its relationship with transgression, such as the onscreen representation of hysteria or demonic possessions; as well as the use of these gestures in order to free the gaze overcoming the standard limits of cinematic language.
