Abstract

Through analysing some of the characters in Pedro Costa’s films, this article seeks to go through how the issue of Caboverdian immigration in Portugal is tackled in his films. Costa’s working method, which takes reality as a starting point in order to construct his stories, is very adequate in the portrayal of the complex phenomenon of immigration.
