This discussion raises a debate about the various relationships established between cinema and museums, art centres or cultural institutions. With the perspective of cinema historians and film critics / analysts, as well as curators and conservators of film and video, the debate addresses from the most appropriate nomenclature to refer to new forms of audiovisual creation found in the exhibition spaces, to production, conservation, outreach and cinema-related educational efforts exerted by the museums nowadays, in and global media coverage, where the preponderance of the Internet as a window display for the individual consumption of the neo-image is a continuous renewal challenge for subsistence of traditional cinemas / museum cinema display.
