Abstract

Javier Abad and Marcos Martinez have been involved in the most internationally successful Spanish productions, both in the field of gaming (as part of the team that developed the first sequel of the Commandos saga) and in the field of animation (they directed, along with Jorge Blanco, Planet 51, one of the most expensive productions in Spanish cinema). The interview focuses on how these two experts see the relationship between video games and films, based on their training and experience and with a special emphasis on Planet 51, with whom Ilion —under the command of the Perez Dolset brothers, also owners of Pyro Studios—, intends to start a production that can be equated to that of Pixar or Dreamworks, worldwide leaders in the field of animation.
